Reactivating the national council of social dialogue and the elaboration of bilateral and tripartite agreements concerning social issues and economic reforms were at the heart of a meeting on Monday October 03, 2022 between Minister of Social Affairs Malek Ezzehi and Secretary General of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) Noureddine Taboubi.
The two sides stressed the need to reactivate the national council of social dialogue, which brings together the government, the UGTT and the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA).
The national council of social dialogue is an official space for social negotiations, in a participatory framework promoting the study of issues related to employment, social security, vocational training and economic and social issues.
The two parties also agreed on the need to resume elaborating bilateral or tripartite agreements on certain issues related to social rights and the forthcoming economic and social reforms. These reforms were approved by the social contract signed on August 12 by Prime Minister Najla Bouden, UGTT Secretary General Noureddine Taboubi and UTICA President Samir Majoul.(TAP)
