ONM: Workshop on protecting migrant children's rights
The National Observatory for Migration (ONM) organised a workshop on Wednesday June 07 , 2023 in cooperation with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), on "protecting the rights of migrant children".
The workshop focused on the State's commitment to protecting migrant children and the efforts made to provide them with the necessary protection and facilitate their access to basic services, including education and healthcare.
The workshop was part of the relaunch of the action plan for the activities of the task force responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) at national level.
In her opening speech, Ahlem Hammami, President General of the National Observatory for Migration, emphasised the Tunisian government's commitment to protecting migrant children. She highlighted the efforts made to provide the necessary protection.
At the same time, she stressed the importance of coordinating the efforts of the various parties involved in order to provide psychological and social support, while taking into account the specific needs of these irregular migrant children. (TAP)
