
Program to combat the phenomenon of violent extremism
The Ministry of Social Affairs's work on the prevention of extremism and terrorism is part of the implementation of the requirements of Act No. 26 of 2015 of 07 August 2015 on counter-terrorism and prevention of money-laundering and the National Strategy for Combating Extremism and Terrorism.
In particular, in its section on prevention, the Ministry's contribution was to consolidate this strategy by ensuring activities in continuous coordination with the National Counter-Terrorism Committee through the conclusion of partnership agreements and cooperation with civil society structures to implement relevant cooperation programmes in support of defence and social inclusion institutions, or activities related to briefing young people at risk of recruitment through listening, briefing and integration services.
General objectives of cooperation programmes:
- Rehabilitating social development institutions and strengthening their capacity to prevent and respond to emerging phenomena such as violent extremism;
- Strengthening social interventions' capacities in preventing violent extremism;
- Developing mechanisms for monitoring and exploring fragile situations that could descend into violent extremism;
- Develop assessment tools that determine the level of vulnerability that can contribute to polarization,
- Supporting the social and economic integration of vulnerable groups;
- Strengthening the capacity of local government structures and the community to deliver services through intervention for their benefit;
- Supporting capacities and efforts to disengage and supporting integration, reintegration, education and community participation efforts.

Project for cooperation with the Centre for International Action against Violent Extremism:The project to cooperate with the Hidaya Centre is part of: "The approach of the relevant parties to prevent extremism among children, in coordination with the National Counter-Terrorism Committee, aims at:
- To promote the unification of knowledge and concepts in the field of radicalization, violent extremism and terrorism and the use of a common language among all those involved in this field;
- Support interventions' capacities to disengage and support integration, reintegration, education and community participation.
Project "Bridges" with Bader Association for Citizenship and Equitable Development:
The project "Bridges" is part of the cooperation between the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Bader Association. "Citizenship and equitable development", centred on "resisting fragility as a polarizing factor in the field of violent extremism" This is done by providing social services for young people who are threatened and at risk of being polarized in violent extremism between the ages of 13 and 35 and who belong to fragile local groups at risk of being polarized in violent extremism.
"Youth" cooperation project with Santé Sud
The cooperation project is part of a partnership between the General Authority for Social Development and the santé sud and adolescent Ado + on the prevention of children and young people threatened by violent extremism in Greater Tunisia, part of which is implemented in a participatory manner over a period of three years (2019-2021) with funding from the French Development Agency, adopting a "local preventive approach".
