
United Nations system
The cooperation between the Ministry and the United Nations system falls within the framework of implementing strategic objectives, reforms, programs and sectoral objectives for the medium term in the field of international cooperation, especially within the framework of the United Nations framework plan for cooperation to support development, which was signed on December 22, 2020 by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad and Mr. Coordinator Resident of the United Nations system in Tunisia.
This document represents the general framework for cooperation between Tunisian authorities and the various specialized agencies of the United Nations and international programmes.
Regarding the areas of competence of the Ministry of Social Affairs under this outline, point 7 of Outcome 3 included “Design and implement a rights-based, inclusive, life-sustaining approach to social protection that is resilient to shocks.”
The objectives set in the framework of this outcome are as follows:
- Improving coordination and systematic interaction between the contributory and non-contributory components of the social protection system
- Adapting social protection programs to combat poverty and deprivation among children, adults and the elderly, as well as refugees and asylum seekers, and to suit the situation of workers in the informal sector
- Adaptation of the social protection strategy to take into account the expansion of the existing social protection systems to include crisis situations
- Improving mechanisms and services to correct, pledge and follow up on the most vulnerable groups.
