FAO underlines readiness to continue cooperation with Tunisia in social protection of agricultural workers
Experts from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) visiting Tunisia from March 6 to 10, 2023 underlined the organization's readiness to pursue cooperation with Tunisia in order to strengthen the social protection of workers in the agricultural and fisheries sectors.
They said, Tuesday March 07 ,2023 during a meeting with Director of Cabinet of Minister of Social Affairs Rafik Ben Brahim, that the FAO will continue cooperation with the ministry through the support of studies and research in the field of social security for workers in the fields of agriculture and fisheries.
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the workshop to be organized on March 9, 2023, by the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Center for Social Studies and Research, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Hydraulic Resources and Fisheries and FAO on the theme of social protection of workers in the artisanal fisheries sector, on the occasion of the launch of the project on social protection in the fisheries sector.
Ben Brahim reviewed the main social interventions in favour of farmers and fishermen, notably through the "Amen Social" programme, noting the importance of studies and research in this field, in cooperation with the FAO and the companies and organisations concerned. (TAP)
